We’re City Lights Church
As a new church in Chula Vista, City Lights Church is more than a religious building.
We are a movement of disciples making disciples all throughout Chula Vista. We want those who feel far from God and far from home to know they belong at our tables, with our community, and in the story of Jesus. City Lights meets in small groups throughout the week and on Sundays at 10am where we worship together!

Where it All Began
Do you remember where you were the last time God asked you to do something big? I was in the car driving back from a conference when I felt God stirring in me a desire to move beyond the reasonable and step into the miraculous. A retiring pastor had just shared his vision to see a new church planted in Chula Vista/San Diego, but he needed someone to come and spear head the endeavor. I knew in that moment that someone was me. When I got home I shared with Melissa all about the conference and about the pastor’s vision and dream of a new work in CV, but I left out the piece about hearing God’s voice within the roar of the car engine on the way home.
A few days later, Melissa comes to me and says, “Hey, guess what I can’t get off my mind.” I already knew the answer, but I took the bait and said, “I don’t know, what?” To which she simply replied, “Chula Vista,” and in those 2 words so much was spoken between us.
We started praying about our next steps, and we sought the advice and council of dear friends and mentors. After a few weeks and months, we were confident in this calling and in this step of faith. God had moved our hearts to create a disciple-making movement that will culminate in planting churches in Chula Vista and the nations.
We knew it would be big, but we’ve seen God do big things before and aren’t afraid to ask for more.

Who We Are
City Lights Church exists to help people who feel far from God and far from home know they belong. We are a group of people creating a disciple making movement that will culminate in planting churches that plant churches. We do this by being people of prayer who share the Gospel and gather together to worship God. Currently, we are serving our Chula Vista community, meeting in small groups in homes, and gather together for worship on Sundays at 10:00 am.
What To Expect
At City Lights we want everyone to feel comfortable and belong. Wear whatever you want and come as you are. Look for people wearing “How can I help?” badges for any questions you have. Our Connections Team will be glad to show you around or help you with anything.
Our worship typically lasts 75 minutes and includes engaging music, teaching, and prayer. We seek to reflect Chula Vista by being multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, and multi-generational in our worship expression. City Kids provides an awesome, fun, & safe kid’s experience for babies – 6th graders. It is here where kids can build friendships, learn about Jesus, sing & dance, and play games. Our Sunday Gatherings are for the whole family!

San Diego native that loves trying new foods, family gatherings, and road trips. Gabby is passionate about creating a space for kids to belong and for parents to be encouraged.
